Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Shanah at Bionic Bookworm 

Every week they suggest a different topic and everyone writes a post listing their top 5!

This week’s topic is our Top 10 All Time Favourites, and I thought this was the perfect post to join the meme on. My Top 10 are very varied, but they are all books I have read and absolutely love, and will definitely read over and over again!

I listened to the novel on audiobook earlier this year, and honestly it blew my mind. I don’t consider myself an expert on Jack the Ripper, but I was fairly confident I knew what had happened, but this novel really opened my eyes. With incredible care and dignity Rubenhold investigates the victims of the Ripper, and gives them the respect they deserve.

This is a novel which I knew about for years but just never picked up until my work bestie convinced me that I would love it. She was so right, its flown right to the top of my favourites list, and deserves all the praise it gets. An incredible and action-packed YA novel, it has a collection of amazing characters, and I totally understand everyone’s obsession with it now!!

This novel is one that I’m sure I read at exactly the right time in my life, and it resonated with me because of this. A fabulous gothic novel with serious Jane Eyre/Susan Hill vibes, it’s incredible, and totally deserves its classic status.

If you’re looking for a mind-bending crime novel, which feels like a game of Cluedo mixed with Groundhog day and written by Agatha Christie then you’re looking at it! I was totally enraptured by this novel from beginning to end, and I couldn’t figure out the murderer until the author made it perfectly clear to me, which is the sign of a good mystery novel in my mind!!

I love Matt Haig’s novels, but this is my favourite. Part self-help guide, part memoir, Haig tells us his deepest feelings and describes his battle with depression and anxiety, and how he copes day to day. Filled with fascinating insights into managing depression and anxiety, it’s also reassuring to know that you don’t have to suffer alone, and things will get better.

Anyone who has ever asked me for a book recommendation will know how much I love this novel. It’s both heart-warming and heart-breaking, and features some of the most beautiful writing I have ever read.

As mentioned above I love Rebecca, so it makes sense that I would also love Jane Eyre as the two are quite similar. One of my favourite classics, the character of Jane Eyre is so amazing that I can’t help but love everything about it.

Another novel with incredible writing, this novel invokes the streets of Barcelona so well that it feels like you’re living and breathing it! A book about books and libraries, its a must for any book lover!

This wouldn’t be a list of my favourite books without a mention for Patrick Ness. One of my favourite authors, I love all his books, but I think his Chaos Walking Trilogy might be my favourite. Full of incredible characters and heart-stopping action, these are perfect YA novels.

Ruta Sepetys is another one of my favourite authors, and one who I think deserves more praise for her incredible moving historical novels, and her ability to make me cry every time I pick up one of her books!

That makes up my Top 10 at the moment, but I can guarantee that in a few months this list will have changed!
