Hello!
I was tagged by the lovely Faye at A Daydreamer’s Thoughts to do this post about my book buying habits! You can check out her post here
Q. What do you like about buying new books?
A. I love the anticipation and excitement that every unread book has for me. Each book contains a whole story for me to enjoy and become immersed in, and every time I buy a new book I am gathering one more of these incredible stories for myself.
Q. How often do you buy new books?
A. So I work in a bookshop, and I see books all day, and I will be honest I could buy books every single day if only my bank account would allow it! But I try to limit myself to only buying books once a week at most. I am also trying to alternate between buying no books for a month, and then allowing myself to buy them the next month. We’ll see how I get on with it!!
Q. Bookstore or online book shopping-which do you prefer?
A. I buy all my books from actual book shops because I have easy access to the one I work in. I prefer looking at the books in person before I buy them!
Q. Do you have a favourite bookshop?
A. Obviously I’m biased but Waterstones Aberdeen is pretty great! I also love Golden Hare Books in Edinburgh, and I want to visit Round Table Books in London soon!
Q. Do you pre-order books?
A. I never used to pre-order books, but I do it occasionally now, but only for books I’m really really excited for, usually sequels.
Q. Do you have a monthly book buying limit?
A. I don’t have one, honestly I absolutely wouldn’t be able to stick to it. But I am going to try to stick to the previously mentioned alternating months of buying and not buying any books!
Q. How big is your wishlist?
A. My actual written down wishlist isn’t that big, but I have loads of books in my head that I want to buy so all in all it’s way too big!
Q. Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own NOW?
A. Definitely The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman, The Testaments by Margaret Atwood and We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal!!
I don’t have anyone in particular to tag, if you fancy doing this then consider yourself tagged!
Happy reading!
