Audiobooks
Spellslinger and Shadowblack by Sebastien de Castell
I have been listening to this series in May on audio, which I’ve been borrowing from my library app. This is a YA series which combines a cowboy adventure with magic! I would highly recommend it!
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
I have owned this novel physically for a wee while, and I decided to listen to the audiobook. I enjoyed this one, it’s a middle grade/young YA novel about a girl who can see ghosts. She travels to Edinburgh with her parents who are professional ghost hunters. Unfortunately the narrator of this audiobook was not able to do a very good Scottish accent, which really detracted from my enjoyment of the book!
A Dead Djinn in Cairo by P. Djeli Clark
I listened to this audiobook on the Scribd app. I have been wanting to pick up something by this author for a long time, so I decided to jump into their audiobooks! This was a brilliant novella, I loved the characters and the setting a lot!
The Physical Books!
The Public Library and other stories by Ali Smith
I read this novel as part of the Bookedinathon readathon, its a collection of short stories that I have had on my TBR for a really long time, and I thought the readathon was the perfect time to read it! Its a collection of stories all about reading and books, I enjoyed it!

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow
I have had a proof of this novel on my shelf for a few months, and I had heard so many good things about it, that I really wanted to pick it up in May. I really enjoyed it, it’s a wonderful engrossing novel which I thought about for a long time after I finished it!

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
This is one of my favourite YA series of all time, and I wanted to do a re-read of it, so I picked it up in May. I still really enjoyed it as much as I did the first time, it’s brilliant! I am planning on picking up book 2 in June!

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
I was unsure whether I wanted to read this book, I am not a huge fan of Maas’s YA novels, but a few friends told me it was a different kind of book, so I grabbed an ebook copy. I was pleasantly surprised by this novel, it was pretty good!

Burn by Patrick Ness
Patrick Ness is one of my favourite YA authors, and Walker YA were kind enough to send me a eARC of the novel to review. I loved this novel, it is weird and action packed, and it has so many twists and turns!

Pine by Francine Toon
This is a eerie novel set in the Scottish Highlands which I have been excited to read for a long time, which sadly didn’t deliver everything I wanted.

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
I’ve had this novel on my TBR pile for a while, I was obsessed with YA paranormal novels when I was younger, and I am absolutely here for a vampire comeback! Sadly this novel wasn’t heavy on the vampires, which was disappointing, but I did enjoy it. I have the sequel to read for review, and I am interested to see where the series is going.

Half a King by Joe Abercrombie
This is the first in a trilogy by Abercrombie, and is the first of his novels that I’ve read. I really enjoyed it, and I’m excited to get to the rest of the trilogy!

Wonderscape by Jennifer Bell
This is a super exciting kids novel about a group of kids getting sucked into a futuristic video game! It is published in June, and I loved it!

The Rental Heart and Other Fairytales by Kirsty Logan
I love Logan’s writing, and I am working my way through everything she has written. This is an excellent collection of fairytales, which have Logan’s gothic writing style!
