August Wrap Up!

A Cas photo 2

Hello, welcome to another monthly wrap up, where I discuss all the things I read and loved in August!

Books Read:

I read 7 books this month, which is a pretty good total for me!

Girl. boy. sea Girl. Boy. Sea by Chris Vick

I was part of the blog tour for this wonderful children’s book, you can check out my post and full review here!

The last

The Last by Hanna Jameson.

A fascinating dystopian post-apocalyptic thriller, this one kept me interested all the way, although the ending was a touch disappointing.

Starfish 2

Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman.

I read this in advance of Akemi’s visit to the shop, you can read about her visit and the bookclub chat we had; Part 1 and Part 2

The Romanovs

The Romanovs 1613-1918 by Simon Sebag Montefiore

I listened to this on audiobook last month, it was a fascinating history of the powerful family of Russia and their violent end.

Northern lights

Northern Lights by Philip Pullman

To celebrate the release of the new Pullman novel we are hosting a party at work, so I decided to re-read the trilogy in preparation. I enjoyed the intricate world that Pullman creates and the novel flies along at a fast paced.

The subtle knife

The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman

Continuing my re-read, and I couldn’t remember much of this novel, so it was quite fun rediscovering it!

Twister

Twister by Juliette Forrest

This novel is one of the picks for September’s kids book club, and it’s a fascinating novel featuring witches and ghosts and a very brave girl.
