Every week they suggest a different topic and we write a post listing our top 5!

This week is all about fantasy novels, a genre I dip in and out of depending how I feel.

The Book of Dust by Philip Pullman.

Honestly I could’ve picked any of Pullman’s novels for this, I love all of His Dark Materials trilogy, and I am so excited for the next book in October!

Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch

One of my favourite series, a fantasy based in London, with very funny characters, and a plethora of magical and mystical entities!

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

One of the fantasy series that everyone raves about, I read this a few years ago and really enjoyed it. However, I haven’t read the sequel so perhaps a re-read is required so I can catch up!

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

One of my favourite novels, this one is a perfect blend of fantasy and humour, and if you haven’t watched the tv show, I highly recommend it too!

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

I thought I would include a children’s novel in my top 5, and this series are some of my favourites! A series about books and magic and family, they are perfect for children and adults.
