2019,  Down the TBR Hole

Down The TBR Hole | Week 5

This is a blogging meme created by Lia at Lost in a Story. The aim is this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
One of my 2019 resolutions is to reduce my TBR pile, both physically, and the digital one I have created on Goodreads, and this meme will hopefully help!!

Enigma- Robert Harris
I like reading thrillers, and I added a lot to my TBR in the past, but I’m not sure this is one I will want to pick up.

Verdict: Go

Archangel- Robert Harris
This is another novel that I added when I was in the mood for thrillers. Like the above Harris novel, I honestly don’t think I’ll pick this one up.

Verdict: Go

Labyrinth- Kate Mosse

This is another novel that I’ve had on my TBR pile for a long time, it looks like a really good novel, and I know it’s very popular. I’m hopeful that I’ll feel like reading it soon.

Verdict: Keep

Lorna Doone- R.D Blackmore
I enjoy reading classics, and this one intrigues me!

Verdict: Keep

Far From the Madding Crowd- Thomas Hardy

I enjoy reading Hardy’s novels, and I added this one to my pile a few years ago, but having read the description, it doesn’t really look like something I want to read.

Verdict: Go

Tiger’s Curse- Colleen Houck

This is a YA fantasy/romance, it looks intriguing but it’s not a novel I can see myself reading.

Verdict: Go

Thirteen Reasons Why- Jay Asher

This novel has been around for a long time, and is now a Netflix tv show too. But I don’t want to read it anymore, so this one is an easy decision!

Verdict: Go

Shiver- Maggie Stiefvater

I haven’t read any of Stiefvater’s novels, but I’m pretty sure I’m never going to, so this one can go.

Verdict: Go

Speak- Laurie Halse Anderson

This novel is one that has been on my TBR for ages, and is a novel I keep meaning to read but never quite get around to. Hopefully I will get to it soon.

Verdict: Keep

Matched- Ally Condie

This is another classic YA dystopian novel which I added to my TBR when I was going through my dystopian phase. But I am no longer going through that phase, and have no real desire to read this anymore!

Verdict: Go

Happy reading!
