Book Blogger Inside Look Tag

As you may have guessed, I love a good tag, and I’m not remotely fussed if no one actually tags me! I saw this on Aoife’s blog Pretty Purple Polka Dots and decided it looked fun!

Where do you typically write your blog posts?

I write my blog posts on my laptop, normally while watching sport on tv.

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?

It depends on the book really. I always make notes after I’ve finished reading the book, so it just depends whether I liked the book and/or had a lot to say!

When did you start your book blog?

I started my blog in 2012, so I’ve been doing this for 7 years!

What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

There aren’t many bad parts I think, maybe its the pressure I feel to read and review books, but that’s a pressure I place on myself, which can sometimes reduce my enjoyment of reading.

What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?

I would say either all the wonderful books I have discovered or the wonderful people I have connected with through my blog!

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?

This is a tricky one. I’ll say a recent post of mine, the 2 parts of the Akemi Dawn Bowman bookclub we held at work. They were very fun to take part in! Part 1 and Part 2.

What is your favourite type of blog post to write?

Recently I’ve started to enjoy tags, and I really like writing review posts.

When do you typically write?

I tend to write at the weekend during the day when I’m not at work. I try and schedule enough posts for the next two weeks to tide me over until my next weekend off.

Do you review every book you read?

No I don’t. I used to try to do this, but now I only do it for ARCs and Proofs or if I feel I have something to say about the book.

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your favourite fur baby?

I write while watching sport (anything really, I’ll watch all sport!) and drinking coffee normally!

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?

I always make notes after I’ve finished the book, these are just rough bullet points, but most of my thoughts are down on paper. So when I come to actually write the review, no matter how long after I actually read the book, I’m able to organise my thoughts into a cohesive post.

How often do you post?

I try to post 2-3 times a week, but it just depends on a number of issues, but that’s my aim!
