Blog Tour | The Gauntlet and the Burning Blade

Hello, welcome to my stop on the blog tour for The Gauntlet and the Burning Blade by Ian Green. Huge thank you to Head of Zeus for having me on the blog tour! This is the second book in the Rotstorm series, following on from the brilliant The Gauntlet and the Blade Beneath.

I love an epic fantasy novel, and I especially love when there is good female main character. We are blessed with multiple awesome female main characters in this series! The first book The Gauntlet and the Fist Beneath is one of my favourite first books in fantasy, it is such a clever world with expertly described magic and rules. I was very excited to dive back into the world again.

This novel begins not long after the events of book 1, and we are thrown almost immediately back into the action. From the first page the action is almost non stop, and I found it very difficult to put the book down as a result!

We follow the same characters as we did in book 1, and I was so happy to rejoin them! Flore is one of my favourite characters, a mother and warrior who is suffering from grief and anger, and these emotions are perfectly balanced in her thoughts and actions.

The other characters are equally as well developed, and we are given a nice insight into all of them. I loved the growth we see across all the characters, its a very strong element of the book.

Overall I really love this fantasy series. The characters and magic system are so well developed, it’s a joy to spend time with them!
