Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Bookish-Naughty-or-Nice-Tag

Hello, I saw this tag on Jenn’s blog at the beginning of December, and I’ve been meaning to fill it in since then. It was created a few years ago by the wonderful Jenn and I decided this year to do the tag!

The rules are simple, tick the statements you have done this year, and we will find out if you have been bookishly naughty or nice!!

Here we go!

Received an ARC and not reviewed it. ✔

Definitely guilty of this, it’s just not humanely possible to read all the books I get sent!!

Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley. ✔

Also guilty of this! I think it’s at 40%, it’s just way too easy to request books!!

Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did).

This one I haven’t done, I normally post the full review on Goodreads or I post nothing, no in between for me.

Folded down the page of a book. ✔

Yeah I have definitely done this, it doesn’t bother me, but I know other people don’t like it.

Accidentally spilled on a book.

I haven’t done this. I do eat and drink a lot while I’m reading, but luckily I’ve avoided any spillages this year!

DNF a book this year. ✔

Yup I’ve definitely done this in 2019. According to Goodreads I have done it 3 times which is actually not too bad!

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it.

I have bought books because they are pretty, but I always intend to read the books, I wouldn’t buy it if I wasn’t going to read it!

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework). ✔

Oh definitely. I am quite bad for procrastinating, it usually takes the form of reading or baking.

Skim read a book.

I don’t think I’ve done this! I tend to either read a book or not, can’t really think of an instance when I have skim read a book as opposed to just putting it down.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal.

Not this year! I comfortably reached by Goodreads goal for 2019. I set myself the goal of 70 books, and I’m currently sat at 86.

Borrowed a book and not returned it.

I have never done this! If I borrow a book from someone I am always so worried about getting it back to them! Even the library has never been short because of me, way too much stress.

Broke a book buying ban. ✔

Oh definitely. I tried to take a month off from buying books a few times this year, but inevitably I ended up buying books. However, it certainly reduced the number of books I bought, so it might be something I consider for 2020.

Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about. ✔

I have done this quite a few times! I always write notes after I finish a book for review, and sometimes I leave the actual writing of the review for so long that I cannot remember anything about the book.

Wrote in a book you were reading. ✔

I have done this. I always do it in books I’m studying for Uni, but I also made some notes in some poetry collections I read this year, which I look forward to reading next time I pick the collection up.

Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads.

Nope. I am a wee bit obsessed with adding books to my Goodreads, and I always enjoy marking books as currently reading and read etc.

Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend.

Whoops. So I answered this in the question above, but I always return books.

Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book.

I love lending people my books. I honestly am not remotely bothered about sharing my books with others, and as long as the book is still in one piece when I get it back then I’m happy!

Broke the spine of someone else’s book.

I don’t tend to break the spines on books very often so this is a no.

Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged.

I don’t take the jackets off books! I didn’t realise this was something people did!!

Sat on a book accidentally.

No I didn’t do this in 2019!

Final Score: 8/20

I think this means I’m nice! How fun!

I tag anyone reading this who fancies taking part. Enjoy!
