Weekly Wrap Up 17/04
Hello! I’m hoping to kickstart the Weekly Wrap Ups again, after a rather poor start to the year! It’s April, springtime, which means warmer temperatures and more daylight, two things that give me instant serotonin! I definitely want to read more during the spring and summer! Let’s see how last week was for me, its Weekly Wrap Up 17/04 time!
Books Read
The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino
I had the first few days of last week off, so I used it as a chance to get stuck into a few books. First one I picked up was this one, a dark academia novel set in a college, where two students manage to summon a devil. I enjoyed this novel, it was a fun read!

Oligarchy by Scarlett Thomas
Continuing the theme of picking up books I’ve had on my shelf for a while, I read Oligarchy next. This is quite a thin book, which was good for me because I didn’t like it at all! It’s set in a boarding school, and deals with eating disorders so crassly and insensitively it was actually difficult to read!

Among Thieves by M.J. Kuhn
This is definitely my favourite book of the week. It was giving Six of Crows vibes but with slightly older characters, which I love. There is a sequel coming which I can’t wait for!

The Ship of Shadows by Maria Kuzniar
I love the cover of this book so much, and I pretty much knew as soon as I bought it that I would love the content too! This is a great middle grade adventure story, with pirates and magic and hidden treasure!!

Currently Reading
An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser
This is my current audiobook listen, which I’m liking but not loving. It’s extremely slow paced, which I did know going in, which I’m struggling to see past. I’m determined to keep going for a while, since I’ve heard great things about the novel overall.

Watching
Schmigadoon
This tv show is based on the premise of a couple who are attending therapy when they find themselves trapped in a musical town! I adore all things musicals, so this is absolutely my thing! It’s being released weekly on Apple TV which is inconvenient but I’m enjoying it enough to keep tuning in every week.
