My Name is Monster by Katie Hale
The first book I read this month was one that I received a finished copy of from Canongate last year. This novel is described as being inspired by Robinson Crusoe and Frankenstein, and I really enjoyed the first half of the novel, but the second half was disappointing to me. I rated it 2.5/5 stars.

The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta
This book is incredible! I have had a copy for a few months, but only just picked it up. Oh my goodness it is amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone!

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
I listened to the audiobook of this novel on Scribd, it actually isn’t published in the UK until July, but I had to listen to it immediately. It was an excellent YA fantasy novel inspired by West African folklore, and has a wonderful hate to love romance!!

I am listening to the audiobook of this book from my library app. I actually began to read the physical book a few months ago, but I couldn’t get into it so I put it down again. So far I am enjoying the audiobook.

I have had a proof of this novel for a few months, and I decided this was a good month to get stuck into it! I love YA fantasy novels, especially those inspired by other cultures, and I am excited to see more of it!
