Weekly Wrap Up 15/01
Hello, welcome to another Weekly Wrap Up (15/01). It’s still January, it feels like this month goes on for years and it’s just so dark! Thankfully we have books to escape into, read on to see what I’ve been enjoying this week!
Books Read
Jayben and the Golden Torch by Thomas Leeds
This is a lovely middle grade fantasy about Jayben who wakes in the Elf world with no memories but a great destiny to save the elf world and all their memories. It’s great fun!

Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo.
I have been actively avoiding this book because I hate the cover so much (apologies for everyone having to look at it now!) but I saw it in the library and decided it was time. I thought it was an ok sequel to Ninth House, but it didn’t blow me away.

The Glorious Race of Magical Beasts by Alex Bell
I was very lucky to get a proof copy of this novel from Faber & Faber and I loved it! A wonderful and magical middle grade fantasy featuring a race across the world, friendship and mythical animal companions!

Currently Reading
The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud
This is the same audiobook as last week’s wrap up, and I’m still loving it!

The Launch Party by Lauren Forry
This is the next book on my TBR pile for January, I love a sci-fi/thriller cross, so I’m excited to explore this one further!

Watching
The Artful Dodger
This week’s tv show is The Artful Dodger which came on Disney+ this month. It’s a fun historical series, so far so good!
Thank you for reading my Weekly Wrap up (15/01). How is your January going, does it also feel a million days long? Let me know in the comments!
