Weekly Wrap Up | 08/05

Hello, thank you for reading my Weekly Wrap Up 08/05! We’re almost half way through May which seems unbelievable to me! Where is time going?? Anyway my reading month is going ok so far, lets see what my week involved!

Books Read

The Burning Chambers by Kate Mosse

This was a little bit of an unusual choice from me, I don’t read an awful lot of historical fiction. I quite enjoyed this novel although I did find it rather slow and did have to force myself to finish it. Not my genre but a good book with excellent descriptive language.

The Lesbiana’s Guide to Catholic School by Sonora Reyes

I was so excited to read this queer YA contemporary novel and it was so good! Faber kindly sent me a finished copy and it went straight to the top of my TBR pile. This novel is full of queer love and family but also deals with some difficult topics, its brilliant!

Currently Reading

The This by Adam Roberts

This is another book I reserved from the library. I’ve read some good things about this novel about the power of social media and AI. In this sci-fi novel, set in present day human’s get social media implants so they can message friends and post online from their brains. Seems a little spooky so far!

The Trees by Percival Everett

This is my current audiobook listen, which came highly recommended by a few of my work colleagues! I’m enjoying it so far, the characters’ voices are really strong, and the audiobook narrator is really doing them justice!

Watching

Silo

Another AppleTv offering, this one is a dystopian based off one of my favourite book series!! If you haven’t read Wool by Hugh Howey I highly recommend. The tv show is good so far, 3 episodes in and I’m enjoying it.

Thank you so much for reading my Weekly Wrap Up 08/05. How was your week? Did you read any brilliant books or watch any terrific TV? Let me know in the comments!
