Down the TBR Hole | Week 3
This is a blogging meme created by Lia at Lost in a Story. The aim is this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
One of my 2018 resolutions is to reduce my TBR pile, both physically, and the digital one I have created on Goodreads, and this meme will hopefully help!!
Bleak House- Charles Dickens
This is a difficult decision for me, on the one hand I don’t really like Dickens all that much, but I’ve heard that this is his best novel by far, so I am tempted.
Verdict: Keep
War and Peace- Leo Tolstoy
This one isn’t so hard as Bleak House, I want to read this at some point in my life, even if the novel is a bit intimidating to hold!!
Verdict: Keep
Going Underground- Susan Vaught
I must have added this novel to my TBR during my YA romance phase. This doesn’t look like a particularly interesting read, so its going.
Verdict: Go
Stork- Wendy Delsol
Another YA novel, this time a fantasy novel, this again doesn’t look like something I would enjoy anymore.
Verdict: Go
On the Jellicoe Road- Melina Marchetta
This is another YA novel, from extremely popular YA writer Melina Marchetta, but again it just doesn’t seem like my thing anymore.
Verdict: Go
Paranormalcy- Kiersten White
I went through a massive YA paranormal phase, and this novel was definitely added to my TBR pile during that phase. I have passed out of that phase, so this doesn’t really interest me anymore.
Verdict: Go
Bright Young Things- Anna Godbersen
This is set in 1920s New York so how could I resist?
Verdict: Keep
Interview with the Vampire- Anne Rice
This is a classic, I really need to get around to it soon!
Verdict: Keep
Some Girls Are- Courtney Summers
Another YA romance novel that I don’t really fancy anymore!
Verdict: Go
Vixen- Jillian Larkin
1920s flapper girls…what’s not to like??
Verdict: Keep
Have you read any of these novels? Do you agree with me or am I making a terrible mistake?
