Book Tag: I Should Have Read That!
It’s time for another book tag! This one was created by Beth at Booksnest and I saw the tag itself on Sifa’s blog: Sifa Elizabeth Reads!
We’re going to discover which books I should have read but haven’t! How exciting!
A book that a certain friend is always asking you to read.
Hmmm. This one is tricky actually. People ask me/sometimes tell me that I should read certain books so often that nothing is really jumping out at me. I’ll leave this one for the moment!
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up.
Ok this one feels like an attack!! I have way too many books on my shelves that have been there for a while, but I’m going to consult Goodreads for an answer. Apparently the book that’s been on my physical TBR for the longest is A Clash of Kings by George R R Martin, the second book in the Game of Thrones series. This does make sense, I read the first book in 2012, and actually got the whole series from my brother, but didn’t read any further! Not sure if I will get to them soon though!
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet.
Oh wow yeah another tricky question! I have a terrible habit of starting series and then never finishing them, but again after consulting Goodreads, the answer is Sabriel by Garth Nix. This is one I’m not proud of! I loved Sabriel when I read it, I just never got around to reading any more of the series! But there are new editions coming out this year, so maybe 2020 is the year I finish them!!
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read.
This one is easy, Les Miserables. I have had my eye on the book for years, it has everything I love in a novel, yet for some reason I just never seem to actually pick it up.
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read.
If I was answering these questions last year I would’ve said Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, I read them for the first time in 2019, after being gently encouraged by friends at work. But now it would have to be Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. It appears that everyone on Book Twitter has read and loved this series, so I am determined to get to it soon!
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet.
I’m going to go for an unusual pick for this question. I really love the Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries tv show, and its based on a series of crime novels by Kerry Greenwood, so I’m going to say these!! I don’t actually own any of these crime novels, but I am determined to find some and read them soon.
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet.
I’m going to go with A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab for this question. I see all her books all over Instagram, and sadly I haven’t picked up any of them. I actually own quite a few of her books, and i just haven’t picked them up yet!
