I was very excited by the blurb of this book, I love a retelling, and I love Frankenstein so I knew this would be a perfect combo for me! It manages to capture the gothic feel of the original novel, while letting us fall in love with Stitch the monster.

Stitch is a lovely character. He has a real innoncence and childish nature which makes him really endearing to read about as an adult. But he is also very funny and loves a gross joke, which will surely appeal to the younger readers too!

This is quite a short novel, and is a quick read. It is definitely a novel that could be read by readers younger than 8, it would make a good first chapter book for confident younger readers too.

The friendship between the two main characters, Stitch and Henry was so lovely, it was a very sweet and heartwarming friendhsip. The novel has a good message about being yourself and being proud of who you are.

Overall I really liked this middle grade novel. Stitch is a lovely retelling of Frankenstein for younger readers, which I would highly recommend!
