Hello and welcome to my stop on the Blog Tour for Peril on the Atlantic! Thank you to Kaleidoscopic Book Tours and Usborne for having me!

I love a middle grade mystery novel, and when I saw this on being compared to the Adventures on Trains series I knew I had to check it out.

This is the first novel in a historical series set on boats. In this novel we meet Alice as she joins her father on board the Queen Mary, a passenger cruise ship heading towards New York. Alice quickly finds herself exploring the ship, making friends and getting embroiled in a mystery!

This is a well paced mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader entertained. I did find some of the surprise reveals were rather obvious and signposted by the author. However these wouldn’t be as obvious to younger readers.

There are lots of fun description of the ship in the novel, from the swimming pool to the engine room. I really enjoyed exploring the Queen Mary along with Alice, and appreciated the detail the author included.

Alice is a good main character, she’s confident and sparky with great determination to do what’s right. We slowly get to discover more about Alice and her story as we go through the novel which I really enjoyed and which I thought the author did a brilliant job of sprinkling throughout.

Peril on the Atlantic is a fast-paced novel overall, but the final 70ish pages are non-stop. The action is so fast-paced and the novel just flies towards its conclusion!

Overall I enjoyed Peril on the Atlantic, its a fun middle grade mystery, and the beginning of what looks like a fun new series!
