This is a really unique take on the dystopian genre in YA, one where it can be tricky to carve out a space in the already very busy genre! Williamson does this brilliantly, her novel of an Earth which has been decimated, where people live in eco-bubbles, the outside air being toxic is an excellent setting. Williamson brings her usual powerful themes and impactful characters to this setting, and what we have is an excellent dystopian YA.

I liked the powerful themes that Williamson brought into this novel, I loved the novel being set in Africa. Dystopian novels can often set themselves in the USA and forget about the rest of the world, and I loved that the author had chosen to set her novel there.

The novel moves along at breakneck speed, it never lets up. There are plenty twists and turns to keep readers entertained, and I sped through it!

Overall I really liked this novel, its an excellent addition to the YA dystopian genre, and well worth picking up!
