Hello, welcome to my August 2023 Anticipated releases post! It’s a slightly shorter list this month, not that there’s not loads of books getting published!! I’ve been trying to read more of my already owned books, so I don’t want to add too many more to my TBR!
He Who Drowned The World by Shelley Parker-Chan
This is the sequel to one of my favourite fantasy novels, and I have been excitedly waiting for it for the second book for ages!!! I just know I’m going to love it, and I was lucky enough to get sent a copy by the lovely team at Black Crow PR!

What you are looking for is in the library by Michiko Aoyama
Apart from having an amazing cover, this book is about a librarian who can tell exactly what book you need at that time, and gives it to you. This just seems like such a sweet and warm book, a perfect hug in a book!

In the Shadow of the Wolf Queen by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
I adore everything Kiran has written, so it was a given that her new book would make it to this list! I was also lucky enough to receive a proof copy of this novel from the publisher, so I can’t wait to start it!

Prophet by Helen MacDonald and Sin Blaché
This is described as a highly inventive and immersive sci-fi which is something that definitely intrigues me! I like Helen’s other writing, so I’m particularly interested to see how she co-writes a Sci-fi!

Wifedom by Anna Funder
This is a fascinating non-fiction story telling of the wife of George Orwell, Eileen O’Shaughnessy and the huge impact she had on him and his writing, which is largely forgotten.

Uprooting by Marchelle Farrell
Another non-fiction release, this is a memoir about belonging and what makes a home, and the power of nature in doing this. I was very lucky to get a copy of this novel from Canongate!
