My January TBR

Hello, a new month means a new TBR pile to read! I don’t always set myself TBRs, it depends how many review copies I have to read, and how organised I’m being!! This month I have a lot of review copies to read, so I have made a plan! Check out everything I’m hoping to read this month in my January TBR.

This Is Not The Jess Show by Anna Carey

This is a YA thriller published on the 2nd of February which I received from the publisher! It's is packed with 90s references and is described as being perfect for fans of Black Mirror I am very intrigued by this one!

Daughters of Night by Laura Shepherd-Robinson

This is a historical mystery/thriller set in 1782 London. Our main character Caroline is trying to get justice for a murdered woman that London would rather just forget. Another book published in February, the 18th this time, I am very excited to read this one!

A Closed and Common Orbit, Record of a Spaceborn Few & The Galaxy, and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers

I read The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet in December and adored it, so I am determined to get the rest of the series read in January! Perhaps optimistic, but I like a challenge!

The Last Bear by Hannah Gold

This is the first middle grade novel on the list, and a proof I received from the publisher! This is the story of April, who must do everything she can to save her friend a polar bear. This looks like such a wholesome book!! Another February release!

Madam by Phoebe Wynne

This is described as a brooding feminist novel set in a boarding school in the Scottish Highlands! Honestly this is all my favourite things in a novel so I am excited!! This one is published on the 18th February.

Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth

This is another book set in a boarding school, however this one is described as a more gothic horror novel, which is intriguing to me!! I have been anticipating this one for a while! This one is published on the 4th of February.

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

This is a book that I have been eagerly awaiting for so long! I was approved for a copy on NetGalley, and I can't wait to start reading!! This is the first in a new YA fantasy series, and I cannot wait!

The Valley of Lost Secrets by Lesley Parr

This is a middle-grade adventure tale set during the War, and I'm hoping for a book similar to Emma Carroll! It's also Waterstones' Kids Book of the Month for January!!

Bear Head by Adrian Tchaikovsky

I was very lucky to be invited to take part in the blog tour for this new exciting sci-fi novel from Tchaikovsky! A sort of sequel to War Dogs, which I read in 2020 and loved, I know this one is going to be good!

How To Be A Hero by Cat Weldon

Another fun middle-grade on the list for January is How to Be a Hero, a adventure story set during Viking times! It has been compared to Wizards of Once and that's enough to make me intrigued!

The Forest of Moon and Sword by Amy Raphael

The final middle grade book on my list for January, this is a magical wintry fantasy story which I have heard only good things about!

The Once and Future Queen by Clara O'Connor

The final book on my TBR for January is this YA fantasy, which is being compared to the Hunger Games, so count me in!
