July 2023 Anticipated Releases

Hello, welcome back to my July 2023 anticipated releases post! It’s had a wee hiatus but we’re back with the anticipated releases! Here are the books I’m excited to read that are published in July 2023!

The Sun and the Void by Gabriela Romero Lacruz

This is the first in a new fantasy duology which is inspired by South American history and folklore. Thank you very much Daphne Press for sending me a proof copy of this novel!

Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

I love all of Silvia’s books, so I am always excited to get my hands on a new one! This is a chilling horror novel set in 1990s Mexico, which looks intriguing!!

The Mystery at Dunvegan Castle by T.L. Huchu

This is the third book in the Edinburgh Nights series, a fabulous fantasy series set in an alternative Edinburgh. I love Ropa and her adventures, so I’m excited to continue this series!

The Hunters by David Wragg

This is the first book in a new series from Wragg, and it looks so good! This novel intrigues me, and the main character Ree seems so cool.

Arkspire by Jamie Littler

The first middle grade novel on the list, this is the new novel from the brilliant Jamie Littler. I was lucky to receive a proof of this novel and its awesome! A world full of magic and adventure, its such a fun book.

Penance by Eliza Clark

I have never read any of Eliza’s books, although I have been meaning to! This looks like a really intriguing thriller, looking at the effect of social media and the internet on how we react to and remember serious crimes like murder. Looks so interesting!

The Weaver and the Witch Queen by Genevieve Gornichec

This is a fantasy novel with Norse mythology about two step sisters. It has Vikings and magic, and looks really good! I own a number of other books by Genevieve but I am ashamed to say I haven’t read any of them!

Dark Water Daughter by H.M. Long

This is the first in a new series about a pirate hunter. We all know I love a pirate book, sho obviously this one makes the list! This is a new fantasy novel which is described as perfect for fans of RJ Barker, which I definitely am!

Bonesmith by Nicki Pau Preto

This novel is the perfect combo for me, it’s described as Gideon Ninth combined with Game of Thrones! Its a YA thriller full of magic and the undead, it sounds good to me!

Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Torzs

This is described as a dark fantasy, and is July’s Goldsboro GSFF book. It’s described as a thriller about a family who are tasked with guarding magical books.
