2021,  Anticipated Releases

My Anticipated Releases | April to June 21

Hello everyone, slightly later than I had hoped, but I am here to share some of my anticipated releases for April to Jun 2021! This year is jam packed with excellent books, and this quarter is going to be big! Lots of publishers have pushed release dates due to the Pandemic, so lots are due in the next three months!

Middle Grade Books

I’m starting off this anticipated releases with the middle grade releases I am most excited for! Top of the list is definitely The Edge of the Ocean by L.D. Lapinski, the sequel to the absolutely brilliant Strangeworlds Travel Agency. One of my favourite books of all time, I was lucky enough to receive a proof of the sequel, and I can confirm that it is just as good!! Next up is Crater Lake Evolution by Jennifer Killick, the second book in the Crater Lake series. This is an awesome middle grade horror book which really keeps you guessing until the end! I’m also really looking forward to The Shadow Arts by Damien Love, another sequel! The series follows Alex, and features ancient magic, and deadly robots!

YA Books

There are so many great YA books being released this quarter, I’ve had to narrow my list down a lot. Believe me I could’ve gone on for a lot longer!! First up is Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman. This is a YA contemporary graphic novel series following Nick and Charlie as they navigate high school, and their relationship. It is the perfect heart warming series, and the illustrations are my favourite! Next up is a YA dark academia novel which I have been hyped for so long, Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé. I love everything dark academia, and I just know I’m going to adore this novel! Another novel I just know I’m going to love is Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart. This is a YA fantasy where two rival witches have to battle to destroy a dangerous rival. I’m hoping for an enemies to lovers tale!!

The next book I am excited for is a collection of stories called Vampires Never Get Old which is edited by Zoraida Cordova and Natalie C. Parker. I love vampires, I went through a paranormal phase in my teens, but I still love any vampire books! A collection of short stories is bound to be a winner with me! Next up is another spooky novel, House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland. This is a haunting gothic novel of three beautiful sisters, and I have heard only good things! The last YA book I want to highlight is an action-packed dystopian. The Block is the sequel to the excellent The Loop, a rollercoaster of an action novel which I loved!

Adult Fiction

The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne is the first in a new fantasy series, with dragons and magic, and basically everything I love in fantasy novels! Next up is A Master of Djinn by P. Djèli Clark. I love the novellas in this series, and I just know I’m going to love the full length novel too. The novel follows government Agent Fatma who deals with magical entities in Cairo! I am also super excited for The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley. This a tale of alternate universes and time travel!

The final three books I want to mention are also all fantasy novels! The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri is the first in a new fantasy series by the author. It features a Princess and a Priestess, who I really hope are going to fall in love! Next is Son of the Storm by Suyi Davies Okingbowa. A tale of forbidden magic and violent conquest, I just know this book is going to be awesome. The last book I want to mention is Seven Deaths of an Empire by G.R. Matthews. A new grimdark fantasy novel, its being compared to Anna Smith-Spark, which I am very excited about!

Those are my most anticipated releases for April to June. Have you read any of these? What books are you excited to read?
