Six for Sunday | Books That Made Me Cry
Hello everyone, welcome to another Six for Sunday post! Today we are talking all about books that made me cry! I cry very easily, so this list could’ve been a whole lot longer! But I have narrowed it down for you. Here we go!
Thanks as always to the lovely Steph for hosting!
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

It's a surprise to nobody that Patrick Ness features on this list. His books often tear my heart into pieces, so it was a tough decision on which one to include. I went for the first book of his I read, which I do remember sobbing while reading it! This trilogy is one of my faves of all time, and its being made into a movie out soon, so I can cry infront of the tv too! Buy from Waterstones here
Hold Back The Tide by Melinda Salisbury

This book was recommended to me by quite a few people on Twitter, although they did warn me it would break my heart. I loved this book! I sobbed at the ending as I was warned I would! This is a YA standalone, a kind of horror/fantasy novel and its a real spooky read! Buy from Waterstones here
House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

I'm not a huge Maas fan, and I don't exactly remember why I began reading this book but I adored it. Its an adult fantasy romance with amazing characters and real drama. The ending was heartbreaking, and I read it while openly sobbing, with my parents staring at me in the background!! Good times. Buy from Waterstones here
Hideous Beauty by William Hussey

I went into this YA mystery/thriller with no real idea what was coming, then my heart was steamrolled by this book. Queue heaving sobs in my bed while I finished it, and you see why it's on this list. The writing in this is so powerful, and I am definitely reading more of Hussey's work! Buy from Waterstones here
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

I adore everything about this book, from the cover to the characters to the world it's set in. The ending did break my heart into tiny pieces, but I still adored it, and I cannot wait to pick up the sequel. Buy from Waterstones here
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

This is a book I read so long ago, and I have never been brave enough to re-read it again because of the sobbing it caused me to do last time. A historical YA, Wein is the queen of these books, and I highly recommend to all! Buy from Waterstones here
There we go! These are 6 books that made me cry! I do highly recommend al of these books, they are excellent books, but warning they may make you cry!!
