My final Middle Grade book of January was this action packed novel about Art, who travels to rescue her mother from being burned as a witch during the 17th Century. Another enjoyable novel, with adventure and friendship! I gave this book 3/5 stars, and my review will be up soon!

This is Not the Jess Show by Anna Carey

This is a fascinating and unique teen book about Jess, who realises that her town is not everything she thought it was! This is a really fun book, comparisons to the Truman Show are apt, it's a page-turner! I gave this book 4.5/5 stars and you can read my thoughts in my review in February.

If you've read my Anticipated Releases for the first quarter post you'll know that this was on there, and I was very excited for it! A tale of female soldiers and magic and religion, I was so excited. Sadly it didn't quite deliver for me. I rated it 3.5/5 stars.

The first book on this list that isn't for review!! I have had this sci-fi novel on my shelves for a few years, and I decided to randomly pick it up! I'm so glad I did, it is an amazing and thought-provoking novel that I highly recommend to all! I gave it 5/5 stars!

The Thief on the Winged Horse by Kate Mascarenhas

I have a confession, I received this ARC prior to the publication date in November, and I just didn't get around to reading it!! Sorry HoZ! But I picked it up this month and I really enjoyed it!! Packed full of magic and doll-making, its a wonderful gothic tale! I gave it 4.5/5 stars.

Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb

One of my 2021 reading resolutions was to finish more series, so I grabbed the 2nd book in the Farseer Trilogy! I loved the first book, and the sequel was just as excellent. This is a high fantasy series which has everything in it; magic, swords, betrayal, treason! I gave it 5/5 stars!

DIE Vol. 1 : Fantasy Heartbreaker

I have had the first volume of this graphic novel on my TBR pile for ages and I finally picked it up this month! It is a dark and quite sad series about a group of kids who get sucked into a game (think world of warcraft-esque). The illustrations are breath-taking too! I gave it 4/5 stars, and I bought the second volume!

Goldie Vance Vol. 1 & 2 by Hope Larson

I love a fun comic book series, and this one featuring an amateur detective who works as a valet in a fancy hotel was too good to resist! Its fun and clever, and has great LGBTQ+ representation! I gave both Vol. 1 & 2 4/5 stars each!
