Easter Readathon 2020 TBR
Hello friends, welcome to my Easter Readathon TBR!
Kate over at Reading Through Infinity is hosting a Readathon this weekend, from 12am on Friday morning until midnight on Monday. You can check out her introduction post here! I am excited take part in the Readathon, I do have plenty time in my day for reading, but hopefully this will give me encouragement to actually pick up and finish a few books.
Kate has made a list of prompts we can try to fulfil during the Readathon if we want to!
I’m going to use this Readathon to get through a few NetGalley ebooks that I have sitting on my Kindle. I’m hoping to read 4 books during the long weekend, which will hopefully fulfil all the prompts. Here’s my TBR!
The Girl Who Came Out Of The Woods by Emily Barr This books should fit Prompts 1 and 2, a book that gives spring vibes and a book about new beginnings. The cover looks spring-is, I'm counting it! This novel is about Arty who has lived her life in a commune isolated from the world, but a terrible accident forces her to leave the safety of her world, and venture out into the unknown, to a new beginning.
The Little Snake by A.L. Kennedy This book will fit prompt 3, a book under 250 pages, according to Goodreads it has 144 pages. This book tells the story of Mary, who as a little girl becomes best friend with a snake. Through the visits of the snake, we see Mary grow up and her world change around her. This is described as a magical fable and I'm excited to get wrapped up in it!
Dangerous Remedy by Kat Dunn. This will fit prompt 4, a cover with a green or yellow cover. This is also one of my most anticipated reads of 2020, so I'm going to use the Readathon as a good reason to pick it up. This is a YA fantasy about a revolutionary's daughter who leads a team of outcasts who save others from meeting death by the guillotine. Then they are sent to save someone who has dark powers that everyone is after. Apparently this novel has an LGBTQ+ aspect, and has been raved about on Twitter, so I am really looking forward to this one!!
The Witches of St. Petersburg by Imogen Edwards-Jones This book should fulfil prompt 5, a book involving family or friends. This book tells the story of 2 Russian princesses who practice black magic and I think try to influence the royal family. I love Russian history so I think this will be perfect for me!
There we go! There is my TBR for the Readathon. I think I am being quite optimistic with 4 books, but we shall see how it goes! Are you taking part in the Easter Readathon? Let me know!
