Shelf Control 14/06/16

Tuesday, 14 June 2016

This is a weekly feature that I will be posting on a Tuesday, where I will be spotlighting a book that I have on my shelves that I haven't read. This is a great idea for a weekly post, as I have loads of unread books, and i find it really interesting to read why others have purchased and want to read certain books!! This is hosted by Bookshelf Fantasies.

This Week's Book:

Title: The Dispossessed
Author: Ursula K. Le Guin
Published: 1974
Pages: 387

Synopsis: Shevek, a brilliant physicist, decides to take action. He will seek answers, question the unquestionable, and attempt to tear down the walls of hatred that have isolated his planet of anarchists from the rest of the civilized universe. To do this dangerous task will mean giving up his family and possibly his life--Shevek must make the unprecedented journey to the utopian mother planet, Urras, to challenge the complex structures of life and living, and ignite the fires of change. -Goodreads

How/When I Got It:
This is actually my mum's book, but she recommended it to me about 4 years ago, and gave me the novel to read, and I just never got around to reading it.

Why I Want To Read It:
Apart from the fact that it's recommended, it sounds good; I love sci-fi and the synopsis sounds exciting, and space travel!!!

Happy reading!!!

  1. What a great choice! I hate to say that I've never read anything by Ursula Le Guin, and that feels like a big hole in my reading history. I hope you enjoy this one! Maybe I'll check it out too.
